We would like to offer several after-school visit opportunities.
Model railroading offers several interconnects to STEM students. Model railroading as a hobby includes:
History: Railroads were the first large scale companies in the world. With lots of mergers, rate wars, etc corporate history can be fascinating.
Electronics: Our layout runs our models using computerized systems. Including some projects with Arduinos. Other projects use analog techniques.
Model building: Many buildings and cars are build from kits or scratch built from wood or styrene.
Operations: WE emulate how the real railroads deliver to customers.
